Visit Urabandai and Jododaira

Azuma Kofuji, a beautiful mountain loved by the local people. A big crater can be seen very close.
In the nature-filled Fukushima, there are many sightseeing spots with beautiful views in each area.
This is especially true for Urabandai, which has an elevation of 800 meters high and holds Lake Hibara, the largest lake in the area as well as the Goshikinuma Lake that displays colorful surfaces of water due to the climate conditions. We recommend you take the Bandai Azuma Lakeline when you drive from Urabandai to Nakatsugawa Canyon, which has the red leaves (closed during winter). This route is popular due to the lakes you can see the alongside the path.
Located in the middle of Bandai Azuma Skyline is Jododaira, which is a marsh with an elevation of 1,600 meters that is also known as the first mountain road in Japan. Azuma Kofuji, the beautiful mountain which has been loved by the local people for a long time, looks like a smaller Mt. Fuji with a big crater. The elevation is 1,705 meters high. You can see the cone-shaped crater up close after you travel ten minutes from the parking lot up a series of stairs. Everyone remarks that the area around the crater resembles a scene from the movie "Your Name.". You can also walk on the wooden promenade on the Jododaira Marsh for 15 minutes.
