Where Women Shine: The Tokyo Symposium
平成26（2014）年9月16日（火曜）、「女性が輝くまち・東京シンポジウム」に出席しました。
シンポジウムの冒頭、知事は、「社会の活力を高めるためには、女性の力を最大限に引き出すことが不可欠です。そのためには、東京で家庭を築き、子育てをする若者が将来に夢を抱いて生き生きと働くとともに、安心して子供を産み育てることができる環境を、企業、家庭、地域、行政が一体となって整備していかなければなりません。女性の多様な働き方を支援し、社会的活躍を推進する機運を醸成するとともに、保育サービスの充実やワークライフバランスの推進等、世界一の都市東京の実現に向けた取組を確実に進め、いわゆるM字カーブの解消を目指します。女性が活躍することのできるまち、そうすることによって、初めて東京が世界一のまちになるのだと思います。このシンポジウムが、その大きなきっかけになることを願っています」と挨拶しました。
On Tuesday, September 16, the governor attended Where Women Shine: The Tokyo Symposium
In the address given by the governor at the symposium, he said that he believes that bringing out the power of women to its fullest is indispensable for enhancing the vitality of society. Corporations, families, communities, and the government must unite as one to prepare an environment where young people are able to not only build a home and raise their children in Tokyo and work energetically to pursue their dreams for the future, but also have peace of mind to bear and raise children. The governor expressed his hopes that the symposium would provide important momentum toward the realization of a city where women are able to actively undertake their endeavors.
